MeltDB Management

MeltDB accepts chromatograms in different file formats (netCDF, mzXML or mzData). These can be uploaded via the web interface. Subsequently, users may organize their chromatograms into chromatogram groups (e.g. biological or technical replicates) and bundle the latter into experiments.

Organize your chromatograms to chromatogram groups and experiments

That hierarchical structure not only allows to process all chromatograms of an experiment collectively, which is important for the most preprocessing steps. It also facilitates statistical analyses, which have to consider single chromatograms as part of replicate groups. All levels of the hierarchy can be accessed via the iMelt browser or the MeltDB search functionality.

As a default, experiments, chromatogram groups and chromatograms belong to their creator, who is the only one having the rights to access the data. To grant access to other users of the same project, use the fine grained permissions options of MeltDB. The General Project Management System (GPMS) is the well evaluated basis of multiple software projects in the Computation Genomics group.
