I've been working with Solaris since Solaris 2.0 days (running it on a SPARCstation ELC with an external 1 GB SCSI disk). Production use started with Solaris 2.1 on a SPARCserver 370 and slightly later a SPARCcenter 2000 running Solaris 2.2 Beta.
Since Solaris 2.7 (sic) Beta, I've been an active beta tester of new releases and updates, so far culminating in participation in the Solaris 10 Platinum Beta program, where we ran serveral production machines on Solaris 10 Beta releases with full support from Solaris Kernel Engineering.
Slightly later, I was invited to the OpenSolaris Pilot Program, and have participated in the project ever since. So far, I've made several contributions to the ON consolidation and co-founded the OpenSolaris NTP project.
