Dr. Lutz Wobbe started working as the new executive secretary of CeBiTec at the 1st of January 2021. He takes over the position of Dr. Stefan Weidner, who died suddenly and unexpectedly in April 2020. Lutz Wobbe, born 1978, studied Biochemistry at Bielefeld University, where he also did his PhD in the field of Molecular Biology. After a research stay at Imperial College London (UK) as a DFG fellow, he returned to Bielefeld University, holding various positions. His research is mainly focussed on Algal Molecular Biology and Green Biotechnology with a strong emphasis on the molecular principles of photosynthetic acclimation in these organisms.
